Apple has filed a series of patents that indicate it may be targeting the fitness market in the near future. We already have the Nike Sport package that enhances your running experience by tying your iPod into your Nike running shoes to customize your workout songs and track your miles while you run. The patents they have filed demonstrate that Apple wants to take the concept even further.

There’s been a lot of debate recently over video game violence, and what effect it might have on children playing these adult games. The latest recommendations from the UK include the scaremongering sound bite that computer games should get cigarette-style warnings.

Those who use PhotoShop on a regular basis usually purchase the full version of the program which is costly. There is also PhotoShop Express which is a lower cost version meant for "casual" users. Now there is a free online version of PhotoShop Express for those who wouldn’t even make use of those features.

Those mysterious few are gamers who don’t buy into the hype of the “next-gen” war — for them, the best consoles are the ones no longer in production.

This week sees the release of Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, a kind of lower priced taster for the full game. It seems a lot of people were going to hold on to their money and wait until that full-fat version came out in a few months time, but it seems we have a longer wait than that.

Â Before installing Vista Service Pack 1, be sure to check out the boot systems you’re currently using if you use Windows Vista Enterprise or Vista Ultimate, otherwise your PC might end up the victim of a faulty SP1 install.

Media and news company CNET just announced that it will eliminate 120 jobs, which is roughly 10% of its total staff, effective immediately. Supposedly it will help the company focus on long term growth, but there’s likely another, more relevant cause.

Motorola is about to undergo a major change in company structure, splitting itself in two parts. One part will concentrate on mobile devices like their large line of phones, and the other will concentrate on network infrastructure. This should toss the company into upheaval for months, not matter how well planned it is. This could have the most impact on the cell phone market.

Last week saw the long running, far too long running in my opinion, divorce battle between Paul McCartney and Heather Mills come to an end with the Beatle’s ex-wife being awarded $48.6 million. This week sees us being able to play a computer game mocking the events.

Blizzard is taking the coder behind the MMO Glider software to court, saying his creation a harmful bot that infringes on their copyright.
BBC reported Michael Donnelly, MMO Glider’s maker, was caught unawares by the legal action – served by a lawyer who came to his house with a private investigator in tow.

World of Warcraft has already been localized for the European Spanish speakers but the makers behind Starcraft decided to share the gaming love…in Spanish.
