We reported on this just this morning. Tyrone Spellman aka Anwar Salahuddin was accused of killing his 17-month old daughter for breaking his Xbox 360 and has been found guilty by a Pennsylvania jury.

In a major blow to communication reliabilit, internet access was disrupted across much of Egypt and India, along with several other Gulf Arab countries. No news agencies are reporting the incident as anything more than an accident at the moment. An international undersea cable was severed, causing the outage.

After June 30, it will be difficult for many to buy a copy of Windows XP. The company is determined to get us all running Vista this year and it will stop at nothing to do so. With the next version of Windows due in 2011 and you need a new computer now or soon, you will have no choice but to buy one with Vista.

Wireless (WiFi) networks are convenient. There are no cables to run, expanding it with wireless repeaters is relatively easy but let me ask you a question. Is it secure? If you have kept the default network name, settings, login and password on your router then most assuredly, it is not. Any “Joe Hacker” (and it wouldn’t take much hacking) walking by could get into your network and computer to see exactly what you are doing. Don’t let this happen to you! Secure your router using its built-in tools.

Myspace just announced that they will launch their developer platform on February 5th. The platform was originally mentioned in October of ‘07 at the Web 2.0 Summit. According to Myspace co-founder Chris DeWolfe, it was supposed to be available in "a couple of months". This news was accompanied by the announcement that Amit Kapur would take on the role of Chief Operating Officer for Myspace, and would oversee the developer platform project.

The world without Razrs and Krzrs sounds like a dark and deprived place. This is exactly what we may be looking at. Motorola has consistently lost market share to Samsung, Nokia and Sony. After suffering a dramatic drop in mobile phone sales during the fourth quarter last year when compared with the same period in 2006, the company may exit the handset market.

Apple likes to have at least a 50% profit margin on most of the hardware it sells but that’s not happening with the company’s AppleTV. The price on the 40GB model was dropped from $299 to $229 and on the 160GB model from $399 to $329. There is a greater profit for the company in selling the 160GB model. Both models still have a lower profit margin than some of its other products.

Four high schools in Worcestershire are reporting an improvement in student behavior after playing Wii games that simulate real sports. But they don’t mention what, if any, physical benefits these virtual sports offer.
