The National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC), a US-based nonprofit group, is urging the US Congress to investigate the alleged violation of copyright on both Google's video site, Google Video, as well as the Google-owned video-sharing site, YouTube. The NLPC has sent a letter to Congress containing a detailed overview of research it began last summer.

Uh-oh. It's starting to look like Samsung and all those other UMPC manufacturers are going to have a new enemy in the fight for consumers' wallets. Apple wasn't just working on the iPhone and iPod Touch when it created multi-touch technology.

Microsoft has said time and again that the infrastructure behind Xbox live is "sufficient" for any demand but apparently its not. Last night, a number of Xbox live users signing on to play Halo 3 discovered that they would have problems signing in and if they did manage to get signed on, staying connected would be difficult.

There are plenty of companies out there that would like to be Google but with success and deep pockets comes all sorts of crazy lawsuits, that probably won't hold up in court but even crazy people can file for a lawsuit.

Every company on the planet has a right to protect its products but when is too much too much? Apple acted quickly in the latest attempt to hack the iPod Touch and shut down (part) of a website that would have had contained the code to the iPod Touch.

Australians had been locked out from accessing the newly launched ad-supported free mobile version of MySpace, The Sydney Morning Herald report said.
Apparently, the decision was made in line with the existing partnership deal with Optus, which has the exclusive rights to offer MySpace mobile through its Zoo portal up until October.

iPhone Dev Team, one of the groups that has successfully managed to unlock the iPhone so that it works with non AT & T phone networks, has issued a statement criticizing Apple's announcement that unlocked iPhone would stop working once the latest iPhone firmware update was released.

Amazon's long awaited DRM-less music download store just hit the web, and, for a moment there, I thought it might have become vaporware. Thankfully, that didn't turn out to be the case, giving me a chance to put the store through its paces. Here's my review of the Amazon MP3 Download Store.

Using data gathered from recently leaked emails, The Pirate Bay has been able to identify companies using MediaDefender's quasi-ethical services. Now that the clients have been identified, The Pirate Bay has now asked the Swedish courts to see if there is enough evidence to launch a criminal trial.

In a bid to give more access options to its users, Fox Interactive Media has disclosed that it would launch this week an ad-supported free mobile version of its social networking site, MySpace.com.
