A new vulnerability in Google's popular Gmail web based email service has been discovered. The proof of concept vulnerability allows a malicious website to add a filter to any Gmail account and forward that to a third party site.

When Steve Jobs announced the iPod touch there was thunderous applause for the 8GB version at $299 but when he mentioned that the 16GB version would be $399, the applause died down and I’m pretty sure you could hear crickets chirping. It seems that people thought $399 was a bit expensive for a 16GB flash player with the multitouch interface but taking a look to the past, it really isn’t.

Microsoft has just announced major updates of its Live Search portal with a promise that it now gives users richer and deeper results. Boasting of an improved core search technology and deeper advancement in the vertical search areas of entertainment, shopping, local and health, Microsoft is hoping to catch up with rival search engines, Google and Yahoo, in the race to dominate the search engine industry.

Vista suffers another blow from its predecessor, Windows XP, as days after Microsoft offered XP downgrade option for Vista users, the company announced today that it will extend selling XP until the end of June 2008.

While many considered the LCD issues plaguing some iPod Touch units a hardware issue, Apple just released a firmware update for the device that appears to fix the problem.

Apparently, today’s iPhone update isn’t all bad. Users are reporting unannounced (good) changes in their handsets despite the disabling of hacks (for now).
One of the first discoveries comes from The Boy Genius, who reports that the iPhone can now play MP3 and WAV files attached to emails.

Like any other good, upstanding Halo playing citizen, I pre-ordered Halo 3. I chose Gamestop because, well, I was at the mall, I walked into the store, and a store rep convinced me to reserve it. This was a terrible mistake, and, by the time I finally got Halo 3 into my hands, all I wanted to do was go home and sleep.

Apple warned us this may happen, and it seems the nightmare of iPhone SIM hackers everywhere is coming true.
The new iPhone firmware (version 1.1.1) went live today, and while it brought new features with it, it also appears to have brought with it death to all those freshly hacked units to boot.

Microsoft has disclosed that in the coming holiday season TV sets may be used to view movies and Internet videos stored on computer running Windows Vista.
The company together with its hardware partners is planning to release this holiday season several “media extenders” that would bridge TV set and Vista computers.

Gateway unveiled their all-in-one PC desktop, named The One, and there are several odd occurrences of déjà vu when you look at it.
